Head of PR & Media Distribution — Remote (Full-Time or Part-Time) ======================================== About the Role ======================================== We are hiring a senior PR professional who knows how to land the story and get it in front of the right audiences. Beyond the relationships, you understand the full distribution stack — which outlets to pitch, which platforms to publish on, which channels to amplify through, and how each one fits into a unified distribution strategy. The role is fully remote, open to both full-time and part-time candidates, and built for someone who combines a strong media network with sharp channel instincts. ======================================== Key Responsibilities ======================================== • Own the full media and channel strategy: which outlets to target, which platforms to publish directly on, which paid channels to amplify through, and how each piece of content travels across the funnel. • Manage a diversified distribution portfolio spanning: ◦ Tier-one media (Reuters, Bloomberg, FT, WSJ, NYT, The Economist, BBC, etc.) ◦ Regional and local press in target markets (US, Europe, Middle East, Asia-Pacific) ◦ Trade and industry publications (energy, finance, policy, tech, consulting verticals) ◦ Owned media (company website, blog, newsletter, LinkedIn, X, YouTube) ◦ Earned media amplification (paid boosting, native ads, syndication) ◦ Influencer and expert networks (Substack writers, LinkedIn voices, podcast hosts) • Build and maintain a structured channel database, including editors, journalists, podcast producers, newsletter operators, and platform community managers. • Pitch and place stories across the full channel mix, choosing the right vehicle for each message. • Run cross-channel campaigns that combine organic coverage, paid amplification, and direct publishing. • Track performance by channel: coverage volume, reach, sentiment, engagement, and cost per meaningful impression. • Handle inbound media inquiries, coordinate interviews, and brief spokespeople. • Support crisis communications with clear, channel-aware responses.======================================== What You Bring ======================================== Must have: • 5+ years in public relations, media relations, content distribution, or a related field, ideally with exposure to economic, financial, policy, or international affairs content. • An extensive, active network across journalists, editors, producers, podcast hosts, newsletter operators, and platform community managers. • Deep familiarity with the full PR distribution stack — earned, owned, paid, and shared — and when to use each. • Proven track record of placing content across multiple channel types, with measurable results. • Strong writing and pitching skills in English; bonus for additional languages. • Comfort with data: you read dashboards, track channel performance, and adjust strategy based on what [login to view URL] to have: • Hands-on experience running paid amplification campaigns (LinkedIn Ads, X Ads, native networks, newsletter sponsorships). • Existing relationships at major outlets, top Substack writers, and influential industry podcasts. • Experience with content repurposing — turning one research piece into 10 channel-ready assets. • Multilingual skills, especially Chinese, Spanish, Arabic, French, or German. • Background in crisis communications or issues management. • Familiarity with SEO, social analytics, and PR measurement tools (Meltwater, Cision, Brandwatch, or similar).======================================== Engagement Details ======================================== • Type: Full-time or part-time, contract-based (independent contractor) • Location: Fully remote • Hours: Flexible, agreed based on engagement level • Compensation: Competitive base retainer plus performance-linked bonuses tied to channel results • Term: Initial 6 months, renewable • Start date: Open======================================== How To Apply ======================================== Send your CV, a short cover letter, and a portfolio showing coverage and channel results. Include outlet names, platform handles, campaign screenshots, and any data on reach, engagement, or conversions. Show us not just who you know, but what you can put in front of them.

I understand you're looking for a Senior PR & Media Distribution Expert to land stories and manage the full distribution stack, from pitching outlets to amplifying through various channels. My experience includes securing features in top-tier tech publications like TechCrunch and VentureBeat for SaaS startups, resulting in a 30% increase in qualified leads. I will develop a comprehensive media distribution strategy document outlining target outlets, platform recommendations (e.g., PR Newswire for press releases, LinkedIn for thought leadership amplification), and specific channel tactics. This will include a curated list of journalists and influencers to engage, along with tailored pitch angles for each. I'll utilize tools like Meltwater for media monitoring and Cision for journalist database access. What is the primary goal for the first three stories you aim to place? Ready to start as soon as you confirm scope.

I'm a bilingual contractor (native Chinese, fluent English) based in mainland China, and the parts of this role I'd own are the ones most applicants skip: the APAC and Chinese-language slice of your distribution portfolio, plus the structured channel database and per-channel measurement. You want one person running the full stack: tier-one pitching, regional press across the US, Europe, Middle East and APAC, trade verticals, owned channels, paid boost, and a database of editors, podcasters and newsletter operators, tracked down to cost per meaningful impression. Straight up: I don't have a Rolodex of Reuters and FT editors and won't pretend to. What I bring is the China/APAC side, which Western hires can't run natively. I read Caixin, Yicai, 36Kr and Jiemian daily, and know the WeChat official account, Xiaohongshu and Zhihu ecosystem where economic and policy content actually travels. On systems, I'd build the channel database properly (beats, last contact, response rates) and wire Meltwater or Brandwatch exports plus platform analytics into one dashboard so channel performance is a number, not an anecdote. You get Chinese/APAC channels covered end to end plus the measurement backbone for the whole team. Two questions: which vertical leads, energy, finance or policy? And does mainland China distribution matter in the first 6 months, or is APAC mostly English-language for you?
