I already have a complete, proven op-amp schematic with a matching single-board layout. For my next round of experiments I want to separate that design into four or more individual boards so I can evaluate each functional block in isolation, swap sections, and generally play with the architecture without respinning the entire assembly every time. Here’s what I need you to do: • Study the existing KiCad files (schematic, PCB, net-classes, constraints). • Propose a clean partition that keeps signal paths short, power rails quiet, and grounding consistent once the sections are cabled together. Include snap-on connectors to cleanly snap on power or additional stages. • Redraw the schematics only where necessary, then create new board outlines, placement, and routing for each daughterboard. • Deliver Gerbers, drill files, updated schematics, and a consolidated BOM ready for fabrication. Acceptance criteria: the split boards must plug together with snap-on connectors and reproduce the original performance within spec; all op-amp feedback loops must remain stable; and each board’s silkscreen must clearly label inputs, outputs, and supply pins. If you usually work in Altium or EasyEDA that’s fine—just export back to KiCad so I can maintain the project. Looking forward to seeing how you’d carve this design up. Input stage to have options for RCA or screw terminals. Same for output.

Splitting a proven op-amp board into modular daughterboards without touching the feedback stability — that's the part most engineers get wrong. I've done this before. I work in Altium, and I'll deliver back in KiCad as requested — clean export, fully maintainable on your end. My approach: study your existing netlist and constraints first, then propose a partition that puts feedback loops entirely within single boards. No feedback path crosses a connector — that's the rule that keeps stability intact. Snap-on connectors for power and inter-board signals, clearly labelled on every silkscreen. Input stage will have RCA and screw terminal options as you specified. Same for output. Deliverables: updated schematics where needed, new board outlines and routing for each daughterboard, Gerbers, drill files, and a consolidated BOM ready for fab. Before I propose the partition I need to see the existing files. The right split depends entirely on where your feedback nodes sit and how your ground currents flow — I won't guess at that. Can you share the KiCad project so I can give you a concrete partition proposal before we formally start? Top Rated on Freelancer since 2018.

Hi, this project matches my experience very well — especially modular analog redesigns where a monolithic PCB is partitioned into interchangeable low-noise functional blocks for evaluation and rapid iteration. I have 10+ years of analog and PCB design experience and completed multiple op-amp, instrumentation, and audio-system redesigns involving grounding optimization, modular interconnects, and stable feedback-loop preservation across split-board architectures. ✅ I will review the existing KiCad schematic, PCB, net classes, and grounding strategy to define a clean modular partition that preserves signal integrity and minimizes inter-board noise coupling. ✅ I will redesign the boards with snap-on interconnects for power and signal chaining while maintaining short return paths, stable op-amp compensation, and consistent analog grounding between stages. ✅ I will generate updated KiCad schematics, routed daughterboards, Gerbers, drill files, and a consolidated BOM with clearly labeled RCA/screw-terminal input and output options on the silkscreen. ✅ How many functional sections do you currently expect the design to be divided into (input, gain, filter, output, PSU, etc.)? ✅ What operating bandwidth and gain levels must remain stable after introducing inter-board connectors and cabling? ✅ Are there mechanical size limits or preferred connector families for the snap-on modular interconnect system? Best, Yaroslav

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ This is exactly the kind of redesign where system partitioning matters more than simply “splitting the PCB.” The key will be separating the functional blocks while preserving grounding integrity, feedback-loop stability, and low-noise behavior once the stages are interconnected through cables and snap-on connectors. I have experience with modular analog/audio PCB architectures, KiCad workflows, and low-noise op-amp layouts. I can reorganize the design into practical daughterboards that stay easy to experiment with while still behaving like the original integrated system. I can help with: • Reviewing existing KiCad schematic/layout/net rules • Defining optimal board partitioning strategy • Modular power/signal interconnect design • RCA + screw-terminal I/O options • Stable grounding and feedback-loop preservation • New schematics, PCB layouts, and fabrication outputs • Consolidated BOM and manufacturing package Deliverables: • Updated KiCad project • Gerbers + drill files • Revised schematics • Consolidated BOM • Modular board layouts ready for fabrication A few questions: Approximately how many functional blocks exist today? Any high-gain stages especially sensitive to cable capacitance? Preferred snap-on connector family? I’d be happy to review the existing KiCad files and propose a clean modular architecture before routing begins.

Dear Client, The biggest risk in this project is not designing a basic 5W class-AB amplifier circuit. It is building a compact audio system that remains stable on a 12V supply under real speaker loads, while maintaining low noise, proper thermal behavior, and clean audio performance across RCA inputs and headphone output stages. That is where practical analog audio PCB design experience matters. I would approach this by: 1. Converting stereo RCA input, snap-on signal connections, speaker output, and headphone stage into a structured signal chain with correct gain staging and isolation strategy. 2. Ensuring correct input sensitivity, stable voltage amplification, and controlled output drive so the amplifier performs consistently across different audio sources without clipping or noise. 3. Implementing safe attenuation and switching/muting logic so headphones are protected and speaker operation does not introduce spikes, load conflicts, or distortion. One key question: Do you prefer a discrete transistor-based amplifier design for flexibility and tuning, or a dedicated audio amplifier IC-based design for faster prototyping and higher reliability? Message me and I’ll define the cleanest architecture so this becomes a stable, low-noise, production-ready amplifier—not just a schematic on paper. Best regards, Prat PCB Must Innovations

Hi there, Splitting a proven analog design into modular blocks is an excellent way to experiment, but doing it without introducing parasitic oscillations or ground loops requires very careful planning. I can natively execute this partitioning in KiCad, ensuring your op-amp circuits remain completely stable while giving you the physical modularity you are looking for. Here is how I will architect your daughterboards: Strategic Partitioning & Stability: I will divide the schematic into distinct functional blocks. Crucially, I will ensure that sensitive op-amp feedback loops remain localized entirely on their respective daughterboards. Routing a feedback node across a physical connector introduces parasitic capacitance and inductance that can destroy phase margin—I will prevent this entirely. Quiet Power & Signal Integrity: Splitting the boards means power delivery and return paths need strict control. I will implement a robust grounding strategy across the snap-on connectors, utilizing dedicated, evenly distributed ground pins to minimize return path impedance, alongside proper localized decoupling on every module. I will handle the entire process natively within KiCad, preserving your existing net-classes, constraints, and schematic hierarchy. Each daughterboard will have clear, bold silkscreen labels for all inputs, outputs, and supply rails to prevent miswiring during your experiments.

Splitting an amp PCB into separate power and signal boards is straightforward when you know where the noise couples. I’ve been doing this for over a decade, and I’ve shipped boards that run in industrial equipment and consumer audio gear alike. I’ll isolate the high-current supply traces, keep your ground return paths clean, and make sure the interconnect between boards doesn’t introduce hum or instability. I work directly in KiCad or Altium, and I’ll deliver Gerbers and a BOM that a fab can run with no back-and-forth. The budget works for a clean, no-surprises layout. Share your current schematic and board file, and I’ll get you a revised design fast.
