In this project, are required to build a mobile robot that is capable of
finding a RED target (see the red bin in Figure 1) in a small indoor environment. During the operation, the
robot is required to avoid obstacles (can slightly touch the obstacle without dislocating it). When the target is
found, the robot should play some sound to indicate the success. The sensors used in building the robot
include touch sensors, a light/colour sensor, gyro sensor, and an ultrasonic range sensor. The actuators used
are DC motors. The controller used is the LEGO EV-3 brick with MINDSTORMS EV-3 software. The EV-
3 software is installed in computers in room XBG02. There is also a MATLAB/Simulink add-on available
