I’m ready to commission a complete pick-and-place robot system for my warehouse operation. This 2 unit system must reliably, safely & unscathingly handle plastic bags (pre-stacked on a wooden 48x40 pallet (Robot unit 1). Clear plastic sheet wrapped, each bag weighing 20-30 kg, travel typical pallet-rack distances, and place into a 20 or 40 ft covered truck trailer (by unit 2 robot arm effector with optional Drone) in a space saving most efficient pattern with full autonomous mode. Only clear plastic wrap will be removed manually at truck loading station, before loading of bags begins. If you can automate, removing of plastic wrapping as well - that will be a plus as an option. The pallet will be typical wooden 48x40, carrying pre-loaded 8x5 = 40 bags, wrapped in a clear plastic film. The size of bags & weight may vary +-25%. There will be several parking stations to pick-up the pallets from, them coming from the production side of plant (this part is not in our scope). The AMR (one example design given in video below) will pick the pallet and drop it at a pre-designated location close to the truck loading bay or to platforms, so the next pallet can be deposited at its place from production side. There are several truck loading bays. The mobile truck loading robot arm (unit 2) will be that can operate inside the truck trailer. Several units of arms will stay parked at a designated area. Once loading into truck initiates, one of the ready, least used mobile arm will move into the truck trailer from the parking space. The Optional Drone will pick the bag, hand over the bag to the arm, inside trailer & then resume next bag handling. When battery is low, it will move/fly to battery charging/refueling station. As the trailer gets progressively loaded, the loading arm will keep moving out of trailer. The quantity & performance speed of each of 2 types of robots must be selected for optimum timings & efficient use. Leave 2 layers of bags open space at top of the trailer for bag manipulation during loading & unloading at destination. The actual configuration will be loaded into AMR, Loading arm, Drone memory by our system, once it becomes ready to accept next load. The robot make/models must use open systems like ROS & not be proprietary, Any PLC, HMI, sensors (from your list) will be supplied & programmed by us. We shall discuss more details in a Q/A session with shortlisted candidates. I need a seasoned robotics engineer who can turn this concept into a build-ready package—from kinematics and actuator sizing, performance, ultra-modern technology to controls architecture and safety guarding. AMR for pallets (example only for illustrative purpose) Unit 1 [login to view URL] Truck trailer load mobile robot (Only arm is needed, this is a example only for illustrative purpose) unit 2 [login to view URL] Open-source Digital Twins (example only for general guidance) [login to view URL] Here’s what I expect to receive: • 3D mechanical design files (SolidWorks or comparable free 3D designer. Please identify) covering robots, arm, base, gripper, and guarding • Motion, timing and load calculations showing the system meets the ≥30kg payload across the required reach • Control-system layout (Robots, end effectors, servo selection, PLC/ROS integration, sensor list) with I/O mapping • A fully itemized BOM with manufacturer part numbers, lead times, and indicative costs • Assembly drawings and exploded views ready for fabrication. Prefer to use pre-fab products that can be fused together quickly • Basic operating cycle 3D simulation & digital twin (some examples given in link) to prove concept and throughput • Design envisages use of 3 robots of each type in operation simultaneously & 2 spares. • Design of Drones & drone battery management/refueling is not in this scope. However, you may provide as an option. AMR charging system is in scope. Acceptance criteria: No damage to the bags during operation. 3 quantity of each unit in use & 2 spares of each. The design must achieve repeatability suitable for pallet, bag picking, cycle time under pre-designated seconds for a single pick-to-place sweep for each segment, and comply with ISO 10218 safety requirements. If you’ve delivered similar heavy-duty pick-and-place systems and can walk us through trade-offs between SCARA, articulated, or gantry configurations, I’m keen to review your approach and past work samples. 1. Submit your questions with 1st response. 2. Do not use AI/chatbots with any communications with us. 3. The budget given is placeholder only. Submit your best $ & time offer 4. After award, for actual design/development, AI use is encouraged. 5. All the design, development documentation, source codes etc. will be submitted, prior to any payment release. 6. Use of any 3rd party SW w/o access to source code, use of custom HW by you, will need our prior approval. 7. No upfront payment. 8. I’m very interested in taking responsibility for your complete warehouse bag-handling robot system. I can develop the concept into a build-ready package covering AMR pallet handling, mobile truck-loading robot, gripper, kinematics, actuator sizing, controls architecture, safety, BOM, fabrication drawings, and digital-twin simulation. I will evaluate and select the most suitable configuration—articulated, gantry, SCARA, or hybrid—based on 30 kg+ payload, ±25% load variation, reach, cycle time, trailer access, pallet flow, and overall throughput. The design will include SolidWorks 3D models, load/motion calculations, servo and sensor selection, PLC/ROS architecture with I/O mapping, guarding, detailed BOM with manufacturer P/Ns, and assembly/exploded drawings. I can also create a simulation/digital twin to validate the complete pick-to-place workflow and optimize the quantity and timing of both robot units. My questions: What are the exact bag dimensions and maximum 25% variation? What is the required target cycle time per bag? What is the maximum truck loading time or bags/hour target? What are the maximum pallet/AMR dimensions and available aisle widths? Do you have preferred robot/servo/AMR manufacturers? Please share the full reference videos/files and any available plant layout. I accept your stated terms and am serious about delivering this project professionally.

Hello, i am Fernando, a senior full‑stack developer with extensive robotics and control‑system experience, and i specialize in turning complex automation concepts into production‑ready designs. I see you need a turnkey pick‑and‑place solution that moves heavy plastic‑bag pallets safely, meets ISO‑10218 safety standards, and delivers high‑throughput loading into trailers. A key insight is that using a modular gantry for the AMR combined with a lightweight articulated arm for the trailer reduces cycle time while keeping the payload within the 30 kg limit. My approach starts with detailed kinematic analysis to size actuators and select servos that guarantee the required reach and speed. I will generate a digital twin in SolidWorks that runs load simulations and validates cycle times, then produce a clean control architecture linking PLC I/O to ROS nodes, which simplifies future maintenance and scaling. Recently i delivered a 3‑unit heavy‑load robotic cell for a food‑packing line, where each robot handled 25 kg trays at 1.2 m/s. I performed motion‑profile optimization, created a complete BOM with lead‑time estimates, and provided 3‑D assembly drawings that enabled a smooth hand‑off to the manufacturer.- I look forward to collaborating closely to refine the design and ensure a reliable, safe system that meets your throughput goals. Thanks

The real job here is the autonomous bag removal and pallet destabilization before robot arm pickup for the first unit. I would design the first unit to use a vision system, likely a Cognex or Keyence model, to identify the plastic wrap boundaries on the pallet, so a collaborative robot arm, perhaps an UR10, can precisely cut and pull the wrap away using a custom end-of-arm tool. This arm also needs to reach down to the first bag layer. For the second unit, it needs to pick a single bag from the pallet and place it into a truck trailer efficiently, so I'd look at a larger payload robot like an ABB IRB 6700 or a Kuka Quantec. The placement pattern will be managed by the robot controller's path planning software, aiming for maximum density. I would build the pallet wrapping removal system first, because if that doesn't work reliably, the entire pickup for the first robot unit is impossible so the rest of the system cannot proceed. Also, the drone integration for wrap removal is a clear optional add-on to the primary requirement. What is the average cycle time for pallet delivery to the loading station for unit 1? Preferred Freelancer here, and I have not missed a deadline or gone over an agreed price yet. In the first day or two, I'd have the 3D model of the robot work cell for unit 1 complete, showing the robot, its end effector, and the pallet staging area, so you can see exactly how the bag handling will start.

Hi there! Quick question - have you already determined whether you need the AMR and loading arm to communicate in real-time during the handoff sequence, or can they operate with a queuing system where the arm picks up bags from staging positions? Regardless, this is definitely something that I feel confident delivering on, given my past experience. I would love to discuss your project further! Looking forward hearing from you. kind regards, Corné
