The bit that decides whether this actually refreshes effortlessly is not the visuals, it is how the query is bound. If the model points at a specific workbook, then every week you either overwrite that same file or the refresh breaks, and worse, it can succeed while quietly still showing last week. What you want is the Folder connector aimed at a drop folder, a sample file transform, and the week pulled from a date column or the file name. Then dropping the new workbook in is genuinely the whole job, and old weeks stay in the model instead of being replaced. Two things that usually bite on weekly Excel sources. Totals rows at the bottom of a sheet get picked up as data and silently double every KPI, so the transform has to drop them by rule rather than by row number. And weekly grain needs a real date table marked as a date table in the model, otherwise week on week and year to date give wrong answers around the year boundary where ISO weeks and calendar weeks disagree. What you get: a .pbix with a clean star schema, DAX measures rather than calculated columns so it stays fast, one executive page with the KPIs and trend, a drill page underneath, and a short note on the folder and the refresh. Question.. is there one workbook per week or one workbook with a tab per week, and what are the three or four numbers you actually look at first on a Monday? Ronak
