Passing the active record's Guid plus related Guids as parameters only holds up if the FetchXML filters on those exact fields and the report still runs when a related Guid is null. I build the query with optional filter nodes so a missing related record does not break the render, then map each parameter explicitly in Report Builder so nothing silently defaults to blank. For each report I will set the dataset against Dataverse using FetchXML, wire the parameters to the record context, and format the multi-page layout so static text and live pulls stay aligned across pages. I'll write each report's FetchXML with pre-filtering on the main entity, so when a user runs it from the ribbon it picks up the record they have open, and the related Guids come in as hidden parameters mapped from that record. Layouts will use repeating headers and footers, keep-together rules and page breaks per group, so static text and live data stay aligned across pages. The tricky part here is getting a Report Builder *.rdl to import cleanly into D365 CE. Classic reports there expect a FetchXML data source and an older RDL schema than Report Builder saves by default. I'd take one report through end to end first. That means the FetchXML dataset, the Guid parameters and the multi-page layout, then importing it and running it from the ribbon in your environment. That proves the pipeline works before we build out the library. I'd test each FetchXML query against a real target record, then map the active record Guid to a hidden parameter so the ribbon launch passes it in. For the layout, I'd use repeating headers and controlled page breaks to keep the static text and live data consistent across pages. Each report comes with the .rdl, the query definition, a parameter mapping list and short configuration notes.
