Automated Power BI Maintenance Dashboard

Our maintenance team tracks dozens of analyzers every week and I need their status at-a-glance, not buried in spreadsheets. The job is to turn a single Excel source workbook (refreshed internally each Friday) into a fully automated Microsoft Power BI report that: • pulls the latest Excel data on a scheduled refresh • displays current analyzer status, highlights defective units, and outlines the action plan for each issue • includes a clean “Email Snapshot” page that I can copy straight into a weekly message to managers—text and visuals must hold their formatting when pasted into Outlook For the main report, a KPI-style overview plus drill-through to individual analyzer details will keep things simple yet actionable. I already have structured tabs in the spreadsheet, so Power Query should be able to shape them quickly; DAX measures will handle the defect counts, aging metrics, and any conditional formatting. Deliverables 1. Power BI (.pbix) file with scheduled refresh set to weekly (gateway or OneDrive connection, whichever is simplest). 2. One visually consistent email page, sized for desktop viewing, that mirrors the headline figures and colour-codes defects. 3. Short hand-off video or document explaining how to adjust data connections and add new analyzers in the future. Acceptance criteria • Refresh completes without manual steps and the visuals repoint themselves to the new week’s data. • Email page can be copied (Ctrl+C) from the Power BI Service into Outlook with no broken icons or misaligned text. • All three metrics—status updates, defective list, and action plans—are visible and filterable by date and site.
