I am a novice web developer looking for someone who can help me with a portion of a project I am working on. I am looking for someone who knows PHP/mySQL well. Right now what I need help with is a migration of a website that is currently hosted on a shared hosting server with PHP 4.4.4, mySQL, and it is Unix based hosting.
What I am trying to accomplish is to migrate it to a dedicated Windows Server 2003 box with mySQL 5.0, IIS 6.0, and I am attempting to install PHP 5.1.6. I have installed 4.4.4 successfully, but the sessions just won’t work and I don’t know why. It creates the session files in the temp directory, but all the files have 0 byte size and I am puzzled. It does however communicate properly with the database (which is good).
I have the IIS web server configured properly, DNS, the mySQL database is working properly, and the website is already uploaded via FTP and the HTML parts work. Remember this is already a working website on another server, I just can’t get it to work on the new server and with the newer version of PHP.
I am stuck at a point where I need outside professional help. I need someone to install the newer version of PHP correctly, get it to communicate properly with the mySQL database, get sessions working within PHP, go over the changes with me so I am aware of what you did, and I will take it from there.
I am very flexible if we run into unforseen issues which will require extra work. The bottom line is I just need this done and I need it done quickly.
You will get Remote Access and everything you need to access the dedicated server. There are some PHP extensions which are being used such as CURL, however like I stated before, all of these things are already working on the unix based server, so it is a matter of just making it work on the new windows server.
I need this done rather quickly as I am on a timetable so please let me know if this is something you can help with right away. I will also be happy to work with you over the telephone on this together and infact would prefer this to get it done faster.
