I'm building a site in wordpress for a community project. The project consists of a series of outdoor mural paintings. Each one has a page in the wp site that should be accessible in three or more possible ways from a smartphone or tablet with data connection / NFC or Bt depending on the way it is done.
1-Scanning a QR code on the wall. (preferable because its cheaper and more accessible to everybody)
2-Geofencing with gps location provided by the smartphone. With a choice of nearby paintings appearing in the device screen.
3-iBeacons or NFC technology. This choice means that we have to buy the beacon cards.
We will have a welcome panel notice at the entrance of the phisical area of the mural paintings with a way to download or access the website. A QR code for sure!.
After accessing the wordpress website the user will have a way to figure out the information of the paintings by one of the previously proposed ways.
It should be possible to scan (or whatever) again later.
QR scan is the only way that suites our needs moneywise. Its cheap to print QR codes, and everybody has a Codescanner in the smartphone, even some newer cameras are able to scan them without an specific APP.
QR code only needs to be a link.
The solution should be working in major Android and iOS browsers.
