Remember selection in filtering portfolio

I have this site [url removed, login to view] which hold a portfolio you can filter with selections in the top. Now I would very much like the site to be able to remember the selections, so if you choose "Boligbyggerier" and then a project from this and then press the back buttom in the browser, the selection "Boligbyggerier" will still be selected instead of showing all projects again.
Also I hope reprogramming this would also mean I would be able to make a link directly to a certain selection (ex. [url removed, login to view]) or something like that, which i also not possible today.
