Oscommerce Customization of Existing Site

Please do NOT waste my time. Don’t even think about bidding on this project until you have read all the specifications below.

This project is for amendments to an existing oscommerce site Most of the work has already been done, but I need these changes to be made.

I need this project complete in 3-5 days (preferably earlier).

I only want people who are VERY experienced in oscommerce and can do this project easily and quickly. I do NOT want to waste any time, so make sure you know exactly what you are in for before taking this on.

In your bid I MUST see examples of your work where you have shown me that you can do the things that have been outlined in these specs.

Most of these changes will be very easy for you. Some of the functionalities will already be included in oscommerce.

Make sure you read the documentation below fully, as there are slight discrepancies between the video and the documentation. Print this out and have a good read. Only apply if you know how to do EVERYTHING in these specs.

For the “ordering” interface (ie. The page you arrive on when you click the “Get started Now” button):

(Note: The uploading feature is already mostly functional on my site).

I need a currency module (similar to [url removed, login to view] where you can choose your currency). If Oscommerce has a currency module, then please install this for me (I understand that it allows someone to choose their currency before the ordering process)…

At the moment, it is impossible to read the text from the information icons in the interface you designed because it falls behind the rest of the interface. The interface needs to be much nicer. Please use question marks instead of those “i” buttons.

Notice how at [url removed, login to view] when you put your mouse over the information icons, it does not interfere with the ordering options.

Please add the extra variable "Style" to the ordering interface (it does NOT currently affect price, but it might in the future), and put it below the variable "Subjects". "Style" has 3 variables - Normal, Black and White, Other. The information icon should say "This is the style you would like us to paint in. If you choose "other", then please make sure to upload an image of the style you would like us to paint like as a reference photo (on the next page) and let us know in the comments box."

So that I can update the impact of this variable on price (in the future), please have it adding $0 to the total price (in the formula).

For "Subjects", there should be the options "4 subjects" and also "5 subjects or more". At the moment they have been included as the same option. Please change this, or let me know how I can change it.

Also, please change “Subjects” to “Number of Subjects”.

Please include before the "next step" button: "If you're confused, or you would like different dimensions for your painting, then please contact us directly for a quote". (Please hyperlink "contact us" to the contact page).

Can you please set it up in such a way that if I need to make any changes to the prices or options then I'll easily be able add/modify these myself (in other words, let me know all the php and html files I need to modify).

Regarding the interface on the page after (where the customer uploads their images), it is very messy. Please make it look much nicer. Also, I need it to be more like [url removed, login to view] where the images are uploaded and you proceed to the next step all in 1 click (“next step”). The current page of mine is problematic because a customer can press “next” without having loaded their image. I need it so they cannot move to the next step unless they have uploaded an image.

Also, please include similar 2 “Notes” that they use.

Please remove the “replace files” part that he has included, it will just confuse people. By default, replace existing files.

I need a text link to the homepage from EVERY page (Home) – put it in the smaller sub-menu area. Also, in the small sub-menu area, please put a link “Business Partners”.

Please make it an interface that is easy to update at any time (ie. Adding new options to each variable). I don’t know if the current guy has done this.

On the homepage – please change “Friends” to “Self”, and “Travel” to “Friends / Travel”, and “Scenery” to “House / Scenery”.

Move “Prints” to under “Painting Prices”. For the "Prints" page, I need a dropdown interface for ordering (similar to the painting section) with the following variables:

Canvas Size – (12x16 Inches, 16x20 inches, 20x24 inches, 24x36 inches, 36x48 inches

Type – Color, Black and White

I will provide prices that I will send you once project is accepted.

I also have shipping rates based on weight of canvas and region. I need you to install/incorporate this into oscommerce for me.

Order status – I need an oscommerce module (or write one) that’s going to help me keep track of the customer’s order. So when the customer checks, they can find out whether:

[url removed, login to view] painting is currently being painted

[url removed, login to view] Painting is waiting for your approval

[url removed, login to view]’re processing your feedback

[url removed, login to view] painting is being shipped (NOTE: I can supply tracking number here)

(I should be able to move back and forward between these stages – mainly between 3 and 4).

I currently have a link from the homepage to “order status” but it doesn’t go anywhere useful.

From the homepage, when you click on the “occasions” (eg. Child, family, wedding, etc), and you arrive at that page, click on the “get started” button on the bottom. It doesn’t link to the ordering interface, but something else. Please fix.

"Samples" Page:

Please make this much nicer looking, and include the images on the homepage in the samples category.

Also, the link to the homepage is messed up. Please fix it.

"FAQ section" – its hard to read the questions. Please make this look better.

SEO – I need to be able to insert the following metatags on each page:




Please install the latest oscommerce SEO module, and make links static when possible.

“upload and store your digital photos for free” – can you please make it a good looking button or something. Also, please install the upgrade script for this.

When someone signs up on the photo uploading script ([url removed, login to view]), please add them to an autoresponder. It will be important for me to be able to contact these people.

Also, I need to keep these people separate from my customers.

Does OScommerce have a good autoresponder that can do this? If so, it would probably be easiest to simply use that one...

If not, I have an excellent autoresponder to use - FUMP (apparently one of the best).

In other words, I need 2 categories of autoresponder:

1. People who have signed up to upload their photos for free

2. My customers (who have purchased or registered to make a purchase)

I need a refer-a-friend pop-up script in the following way (that I can turn on and off at any time):

When someone signs up (and only when they sign up) to create and store photo albums (using the photo upload script), then a pop-up shows up with the refer a friend script and tells them to refer 2 friends to go into a draw (I will provide the content for this once I choose the bidder).

(NOTE: I’m going to need to be able to change this pop-up at whim, so please let me know how to do so).

Link Testimonials – put “coming soon” on the page

I’ll update both of those pages once you’ve put them up.

I also need a direct bank deposit module installed, as well as merchant credit card facilities (an Australian bank credit card module). I need to offer these options as well as paypal.

If you read through my specs and find that my life would be easier with a different shopping cart, then please let me know. But most of the work is already done, and most of these changes should be very easy for you.
