I have a custom module written for the CPGNuke/Dragonfly CMS. It is mostly done but not working well and needs to be fixed or redesigned.
I'm willing to pay to have it fixed and modified. Attached is the code. I can provide a complete development environment if you like.
Right now the winners do not move from round to round. The tournament display doesn't show the entire bracket.
There is no email feature for when a round is done or tournament completed.
Here is the original proposal:
Module to hold a voting tournament. I want to hook it into my poems module, but for starters an 8 to 4 to 2 head to head version would be good.
A) Item 1 vs Item 2
B) Item 3 vs Item 4
C) Item 5 vs Item 6
D) Item 7 vs Item 8
Winner of A vs Winner of B
Winner of C vs Winner of D
Winner of X vs Winner of Y
Champion is winner of Z
Users can start a tournament
Rounds last X hours, days, and weeks
After 1 round is over, the Items go automatically into next round and the clock starts counting.
Each round requires a new item. Participants when they join the tournament must specify the items they are going to compete with. Before a round starts, they can change the item.
Use the voting code method from the links module. That way registered votes would count most, followed by unregistered, followed by outside unregistered.
Items can just be a text title, and description entered through a form for now. Stored as a row in a table. That way a link to a picture (through WYSIWYG UBB Code) or other items can be substituted or used and it would be more easily modified to meet the needs of others.
My thoughts are the links module would be good to use as a basis since it has a lot of the voting pieces and category pieces, etc. Your decision though.
Any registered user to be able to start a tourney. Needs a maximum number of tournaments at any given time setting. Maximum number submitted by same user setting.
Date and time to enter for when the rounds of the tournament begin and end.
Weights of votes should be configurable or if its hard coded, I'd say 1 to 5 to 10 for Reg, Unreg, outside.
How it looks is up to the coder, but I'd like a screen that looked like a bracket screen if possible... ala NCAA Basketball Tournment bracket style.
Clean and easier to use is better than cool looking in my opinion.
