Hi, from my understanding, you will have a predefined template like: - fixed image size - fixed font size - fixed header size Then these predefined template will be generated and populated by client input to a form which can then be exported/saved and sent to a printing house. I am an experienced software engineer with 20 years programming experience. My programming language of choice is Java. I h,ave developed many web applications which run on various web servers, most commonly tomcat. I am assuming this application will run on an existing web server and can be delivered with a java war (Web Archive) file to be deployed on the web server. I have been working with the iText PDF generation java library for six months. I have also used the Apache FOP library which is more complex although has its advantages in that you can define XML templates for the layout. I would use the iText library for this program as it simplifies the PDF generation. This library comes with an AGPL license which allows it to be used freely as long as the source code is distributed with the product and the license is displayed in the header of the source code. I have found the key to the success of PDF generation projects is to have a well defined design first. Are you asking for multiple layouts or being able to create additional layouts yourself which are immediately incorporated into the application? If so, do you have a layout structure? How fancy will the input page be? Are you looking for a great web page design? Do you have an existing web server and application which this application integrate with?
