I operate 10 fantasy hockey leagues that use a mixture of web-based resources. Currently, users post their transactions on a forum, and then I manually enter the information into a spreadsheet. Then I send the spreadsheet out weekly.
The goal of this project is two-fold: first, integrate the information contained in these spreadsheets to my WordPress site; second, automate the recording process so that users fill out a form and the transactions are recorded (this part includes a complex series of checks/errors). The long-term goal is to make it so that I don't have to do anything manually -- the user simply submits a transaction form, and the website automatically updates with the change.
The rulebook for these leagues is extremely nuanced and very complex -- there are lots of moving parts and variables. It's complicated. I need a Freelancer with the patience to understand not just how to build what I'm asking for, but to truly understand how these leagues work so that they can help me come up with the best solutions.
Strong command of the English language and good communication skills are essential. Some understanding of fantasy sports is a huge plus. Knowledge of professional hockey and/or fantasy hockey will basically get you the job. On the technical side, I imagine you would need a working knowledge of Excel and maybe VBA, plus SQL, PHP, and WordPress. But it's all foreign to me, so I'm really just guessing.
