I want to offer my customers a smooth product-filtering experience. One of the challenges is dealing with various different color names that are shades of a main color.
Imagine 10 T-shirts in various shades of red and by different brands. Each brand uses its own fancy names for red (crimson red, cherry, melon, bright red, etc.) If a customer who filters for product colors only wants to see "red" T-Shirts, they will ONLY see products that have the exact attribute term of "red".
What I need to happen is that, for example, "crimson red" can be a a child attribute of red. Then the parent value (red) can be used for product filtering, while the brand-assigned color name "crimson red" would still show in the results.
Right now attributes arent allowing me to assign "Parent Attributes" which makes this difficult. I need a freelancer who understands what I am saying and can fix this with code. Attached images may help you to understand better.
