I run a website where I receive sports betting odds data from many different online sportsbooks. Each sportsbook uses a different format in their XML feed.
I am looking for a PHP script that can be EASILY configured to parse various XML feeds with wildly varying structures. The product available at [url removed, login to view] comes close but does not fully work for this project. The idea is to be able to quickly add new sportsbooks to our database of information with an interoperable and easily configurable XML parsing script. The script need only be able to handle soccer odds.
The script does not need to work in real time as the parsed data will be inserted into a MySQL database. The script need not insert the data. It should merely prepare the data by creating php objects for each match within the XML feed.
This is a rather complicated project as the PHP script needs to be able to handle a great variety of XML formats, some of which can be frustrating and difficult to parse. The interoperable aspect to this script is hugely important. We want our developers to be able to use this script in the future in a very timely manner to add or update our XML parsing abilities.
We will be happy to work closely with the programmer since we already have experience parsing these feeds. Feel free to contact with questions. See attached file for description of objects needed to be prepared from the XML.
