I'm a somewhat advanced Wordpress user, but more on the design side. looking for someone who is an experienced Wordpress *developer* who can provide the following:
- a query that displays posts by day, which can accept additional parameters that restrict the posts by category.
- a way to display the current day's posts on the homepage, and have links to the previous day. This can be tied to the archives
I'm not looking for CSS or additional styling of any kind. I only want a query which will display the current day's posts on the homepage, with a link to the previous day's archive page (which should also display all posts from that day). Each daily archive page should link to the day preceding, and the day following, if those days exist.
Query can be designed for use inside or outside the loop, but the ability to restrict by category is important, so that I can apply one style to posts from category 1, and different styling to posts from category 2, for example.
Please note when bidding: I only want the query necessary to affect the display of the homepage and daily archive pages. I do not want a plugin, shortcodes or anything other than a query which will display all posts by date.
For the homepage, the query should check to see what the current date is, then display all posts from that day (no pagination). It may be a separate query, but once the current date is established, there should be a link to the previous day's archive page.
For the archive page, the query should check to see if the page is a daily archive, if it is, then display posts according to the same query running on the homepage (all posts from that date on one page, no pagination, with a link available to the preceding day's archive and the following day's archive). If not (if it's a monthly or yearly archive) display the default layout.
I've figured out the query for displaying the current day's posts on the homepage, to a partial extent the date link as well so I primarily need help with the daily archive page and getting it to display properly. If you've already bid, please adjust your bid to take this into account.
