My website needs 2 adjustments to it. The website is built using a very comprehensive theme and has a number of plugins so there might be troubleshooting to ensure site performs perfectly.

1. My homepage works like a one-page site, where menu-items across the top of the screen link to sections further down the page. The page smooth scrolls to each section perfectly. I need help setting the menu up so it's responsive to viewport and it highlights the correct menu item. For example: When I select portfolio, I want the page to scroll down the page and show the portfolio section, and I want the menu to have PORTFOLIO highlighted and HOME not highlighted. Currently, portfolio menu-item highlights as well as home. Ideally, when the user would scroll back up the page, portfolio would then become unhighlighted and home would be highlighted.
I've used this plugin, which achieve the nice scrolling effect and does have the functionality to set up proper highlight states but I cannot get it working as I'd like.
2. The portfolio section of the site, which is partway down my homepage, has a feature at the top of it that allows users to sort the portfolio. I'd like that sorting section to stick to the top of the page (below the menu of course) when a user scrolls down. When they scroll down to a certain point, the menu would disappear. This is a perfect demo - [url removed, login to view] Unfortunately, I cannot get that wordpress plugin working perfectly but perhaps it could be tweaked.
