We’re looking for someone to help us in a little project (our expectations are 3-5 dd), involving (possibly) using the QuickTime API, but we're open to suggestions. The goal of the system is reading 4 different video files plus a graphics banner and generate a video showing the 4 source videos in a 2x2 grid playing at the same time with the banner imposed semitransparently at the bottom. The format of the input / output videos can be agreed as long as it's mainstream (.wmv, .mov, .mp4. flv, ...) The jobs will be submitted running the program from the command line. File1-4 will be the input file names, Banner the graphic banner and OutputFile the name of the output file. We can invoke it passing the parameters in the command line or in a separate file whatever is easiest. The system should read its configuration from a file which will specify the input and output directories, the size of the target video and the level of logging and location of the log files. The successful bidder should also provide a web interface so that an operator can log in and see the status of the queue which must reflect submission time, progress indicator (%), status (waiting, in progress, finished, error) and ability to cancel a job which hasn't been completed yet.
