Build a user friendly real estate listing application that is flexible and easy to update.
This custom software will:
a) Create a visual display of input information to be displayed on web page as well an output optimized for email or print.
b) Provide an Admin Tool to update/change/add/remove listings.
The functionality of the tool will include:
i) Forms and fields to input listing information and upload photos
ii) Save listing function
iii) Publish listing function
iv) Edit listing
v) Delete listing
vi) Start new listing

Please note, in addition to this application, we are planning to completely redesign our website.

Project Summary
Safeguard Realty Management would like to update its existing web site to better reflect the identity and mission of the company and to create a more professional and appealing presentation to users. This project involves redesigning the visual elements, content, and architecture of the existing web site as well as adding more dynamic features such as creating password-protected areas, developing a content management system for listings creation, and deterring users from copying photographs of properties.
We would like to update and improve our current web site in order to generate more business, generate more inquiries, and allow updates more cost-effectively.
SCOPE
Based on our analysis of the current site we feel the scope of work should fall into six categories with the possibility of a seventh depending upon additional price.
1) Develop new site navigation schema (site map)
a) Consolidate site navigation to make site easier for visitors to use and find the information they need.
b) Provide more prominence to listings area to drive prospects to the listing sections.
c) Call to action on each listing to encourage inquiry and, where appropriate, downloading of fillable PDF rental application form, link to email request for more information.
2) Refine SRM logo
a) Tighten typography.
b) Clean up lettering and make better use of logo size within context of a web page.
c) Make more useable in other mediums (e.g. email request for more information, rental application).
3) Create a visual design for the site
a) Simpler, more streamlined, with more contemporary design & color and better use of space on each page.
b) More effective home page that features a recent listing to encourage click thru to listings area.
c) Each listing will be sufficiently complete, even for visitors who arrive from outside the site (such as from Craigslist).
4) Build a listing application that is flexible and easy to update. This custom software will:

There will be 5 different types of listings (Commercial Sales, Comercial Leasing, Residential Sales, Residential Leasing, And Property Management) being posted by between 10 - 15 different users. Some of these users have very limited computer skills, therefore it is imperative that this application be user friendly for the limited skilled users, yet at the same time it needs to be an intuitive customizable program for our advanced users (eg. Has to give us the ability to add another type of listing, like foreclosures for instance, too the 5 previously mentioned. This new type of listing would cause us to have to change the input and output screen and all the related fields that would apply.

We would be open to you utilizing open-realty’s or another similar application and customizing that application to match our needs.
It is imperative that this application be flexible so that we can change the number, order and characteristics of the fields, not simply the imput information.

We feel it is worth mentioning that because SRM does not soley focus on just one type of real estate, we will not have simply one type of customer viewing our website. Our website viewers will include everyone from people looking at low rent apartments for rent in the Bronx, to people interested in purchasing those buildings, to people who own other buildings looking to hire a management company.
Other website viewers will include: people looking for higher rent apartments in Manhattan and Brooklyn, And people looking for commercial space to rent including: retail, office, and industrial space
We would like to see these differences incorporated into the site.
If you have experience creating programs for similar applications, and have any suggestions regarding features that we may not have mentioned, please, any suggestions are welcome.
5) Develop online rental application. For rental listings, design user interface and build software for an online rental
application mechanism. Completed applications would contain digital signature and store in an application database.
6) Site Promotion/Optimization. We need to optimize our website for better search engine positioning.
7) We would like to incorporate into our website a secured login feature that would allow our brokers and other employees to access data (eg. Photos of properties, documents, forms, or other types of files) similar to a remote access portal that would give the secured user ability to not only access these files, but also “drag and drop?? capability to edit and save changes to one central location. Essentially we need the functionality that we currently have with our local server in the office, available to us from remote locations as well.
Again please note this project can be divided into two parts: the listings management application and the rest of the website redevelopment.
However we are more than willing to give the entire project to the best qualified with the best price.
