I need to restore a couple of MySQL databases. (some 10 databases or so). I have been able to insert the databases into the MySQL database folder. With PhpMyAdmin I can view them, and manipulate them.
However, my software (phpBB3, MediaWIKI) refuses to connect to the databases. (although credentials are correct)
New created databases and newly installed software work correctly.
All is installed on a Windows 2003 machine. (on VM ware)
Old server (Windows 2003 SBS)? died. (hardware failure). The data could be retrieved from the data disks, and is unharmed. (MySQL files, MYI, FRM, etc)
I installed a new Windows 2003 server (no SBS). On it MySQL ([url removed, login to view], latest stable version), PHP5 (via FastCGI) and IIS6.
I copied the MYI and FRM files, and the InnoDB file into the MySQL data folder.
I copied the website files (6 domains) to exactly the same location as on the old server (F:/Websites) to make it unneccesary to alter config files.
I made new websites in IIS admin, pointing to the corresponding data.
Websites that have no MySQL database run succesfully.
Websites that have MySQL databases do not run. (Error during DBMS connection:
Access denied for user 'IUSR_SERVER1'@'localhost' (using password: NO))
Things I tried:
-double check the existence and privileges of the users in MySQL
-change the users, do the same in the config file.
-create a new database, transfer the data from the old database into the new one (via SQL file).
-manually add read/write/execute rights to all possibly involved folders and files.
-add IUSR_Server1 to the administrator group
-uninstall and reinstall MySQL
All did not work.
I also did:
-create a new website in IIS, new database in MySQL, installed phpBB3. This installation works.
-I tried to enter the Mysql console ([url removed, login to view] -u:root -p)
Connection is refused after entering password. This is the same password I use in phpmyadmin!
With my basic knowledge I am stuck here, and I guess I need an expert. It is either a matter of privileges, or perhaps Mysql issues. I really would like to get the websites running again.
6 affected websites
10 affected databases (most are small, under 2 mb. One is a 400 mb Innodb, and another a 101 mb Myisam db. This last one is not so important.)
-someone can help me restoring at least the important databases, and get the websites working again.
