I need a simple application developed that can load a given data set (read in a text file), and then? perform polynomial regression to the 'n' degree (i.e. 1st degree, 2nd degree etc.), and draw the 'standard curve' on a graph, with the data points plotted as well.
The polynomial regression should find the best fit, based on the selected data set, and produce an equation, where 'x' is an unknown variable in the generated equation.
I need that equation to be stored 'in memory' (i.e. in a public variable, or however you choose to store it), such that the user can then specify a numeric value that is then applied to the equation in memory, where variable 'x' is now the numeric value that the user specified, and then the software must perform the calculation based on the equation and numeric value that was specified by the user, and return the calculated result to the user.
The application must be written in C#.NET - using WinForms.
I need this to be custom-written code - no libraries.? The only library that I am willing to be used is for the graph - which I have already - it is an open-source library called ZedGraph.
This is an easy task that I need done very fast - i.e., today.
There is a bonus if this can be delivered by 7 PM EST today.
