In this job you will be required to update html pages and also work on perl scripts. Freelancer needs to be familiar with html creation and updating also needs to be familiar with website management and also have experience with new look and feature implementation. We are looking for someone with vast experience that can analyze and understand our needs. Must be able to understand server side website and domain management and how to move files once updated in a large complex website environment. Must be able to remotely login through shell access with experience on a wide range of operating systems like Linux and Ubuntu with ISP Config and other server management tools. If you are experienced in all these areas you could be the right person for this job.
BTW, our existing site is http://www.nationalcontractors.com you can view the site and see how much of the conversion has already been done.
one of the existing problems we have is configuration. When the new look and feel began to be implemented we copied the entire site over to a new domain http://new.nationalcontractors.com this was on a new disk that was added on to our server at arpnetworks with a unbuntu operating system. ISP Config was set up for management on the first disk where www.nationalcontractors.com was loaded. Once the site was developed the files now point to www.nationalcontractors.com but the data is on the 2nd disk, which is not controlled by ISP Config, all the users and passwords for shell and ftp access were set up manually. So it is kind of a mess. Not only do we need it configured properly and the right files moved where they need to be, we need a server management software that is capable of controlling both disks, or we need to move all the data from the second disk to the first and do away with the 2nd disk alltogether. We began to run into space issues on the first disk at 20 gig which is why we installed the 2nd.
Beyond that there are still pages that have not been completed with the new look and feel on www.nationalcontractors.com that need to be finished, but we have scripts running in both places from the first disk and second disk so we need someone to be able to navigate through all of that and make the proper adjustments.
