I'm looking to create a social networking website, similar to that of myspace.
I require a site that users can register (registration requires authorisation from the administrator). When they register they can build their own website as part of the main site. So if the site was called [url removed, login to view], they would register with the name myname, they would get the website myname.website.com.
The website must be give them simple templates to fill in for their website pages. They will be allowed many pages.
The website will not just be for individuals, but for businesses to. So a local business could create a micro-site to promote their own business. It would allow them to upload logos, photos, text and weblinks. It would be their own website.
Different levels of membership could be granted. So a business getting a website could be allowed different levels of membership. They could get a one page advertisement only site. They could get a site that has a maximum of 10 pages. And one that allows unlimited pages.
The website could sell advertising space on all of the pages, including the users pages.
Businesses/Groups could sell advertising space on their own page as well. So if a community group had the site [url removed, login to view], they could sell advertising or sponsorship from local businesses.
The website could upload videos as well as images.
User accounts could have space restrictions. So an individual could create their own account and they would be limited to a certain amount of webspace. A business would have a greater amount of webspace to work with.
The templates that users could use to build their own micro-sites would be different for businesses and individuals. An business will want a proper looking business website. It would be a basic site, but a good one.
The website would require an index on the home page. So users could search for listed businesses in their area. A bit like Yellow Pages. The businesses could be categorised and include details of the area, town, etc that the business was located. A search for Mechanics for example would show up all mechanics in a chosen area.
The budget is low, but if it costs more than the budget we have set then we would consider it. Only for good work though. Bids must be realistic and accurate.
Anyone submitting a bid must give examples of similar projects to this that they've done before.
Any questions, please ask. We know what we want this site to achieve and we can answer any question you have on it.
