Hey, thanks for taking the time to look at our project. We are currently searching for an experienced web developer to help us decide which ecommerce software is best for our needs and then execute the creation of a website using that software. We are open to considering both the free and pay-per-month varieties. A few examples of things we have looked at so far include: Yahoo, Amazon, BigCommerce, Zen Cart, Magento, Shopify and a few others. Our problem is, we have no idea which of these would be the best solution for our business. We would like someone with experience to give some advice on this matter.
A few more specifics:
We want our website to be optimized for SEO. We feel like the platform we invest in now will be the same platform we will be using 5 years from now. Therefore, we want to make sure we start with a something that will allow us to be optimized organically in the future. It will also be absolutely essential for us to have some type of analytics package. We are most familiar with Google Analytics and would probably prefer this. We will also need something that will make it easy for us to add additional categories and products. Our initial website will probably only contain 10 - 15 products, but we definitely plan on having 100+ in the future. We will also need a shopping cart and the ability to process credit cards. I know that all of the ecommerce software listed above claim to satisfy these needs, but as I mentioned before, we really want someone to help us decide which would be the best fit for us.
