The aim of this project is to write a web application for the serving and management of audio files. In particular, given a set of audio files it should be able to serve to the user (over http) short sections of those files using the query information in a url e.g.
http://myserver/[url removed, login to view]:05:00&end=00:06:00
would send to the client program an mp3 file extracted between the 5th and 6th minutes of asoundfile.mp3.
Additionally the application should be able to accept a range of different sound file sound types, and serve content from the same source file in a range of formats.
As an additional feature it should enable users with appropriate access to upload and update files over the web, and manage information about those files, and should be able to generate rss feeds for sets of files i.e. it is implementing a podcast service.
It is expected that the implementation of such a server will be as a CGI application on an Apache web server. The scripts or code could be written in a range of languages as the student prefers e.g. Perl, PHP. These scripts will run external programmes to perform the actual sound file processing - it is not expected that students write their own applications to do this. An example of a programme which could be used by the scripts is ffmpeg.
What I need is a cool website done in php/ musql or pearl.
Website should have two level of access , (1) administrator access, where he can download and upload file at his discretion and manage information about those files.
And (2) public access where members of the college can self register and they are give a unique password to view files.
