Invision Power Board Theme Modification

We are in the process of moving from vBulletin to IPB, and thus have a new website to redesign. We will be completing the merge ourself onto IPB, so the only work remaining for the designer is to modify the existing default IPB template as per our requirements which we will try our best to outline here.

We have created a complete index mock-up of how we want the forum homepage to look. Much of the work requires CSS and code modifications to get the desired look. Some of the modifications which are included in this project involved changing the colour schemes, completely redesigning the header, completely redesigning the homepage, and other minor adjustments to the default theme.

The homepage which will be redesigned, which is also the main focus and the largest task of this project, requires a slight integration with the WordPress blog. As you will be able to see from the mockup designs, we are going to be using RSS capabilities to call the latest blog title and present them on the forum homepage - naturally all of the updates will be automatic. The blog is also under the same domain. We're open to any comments about this feature by the designer.

The theme should also withstand any future releases for the forum software. It should also be made clear through subsequent discussion, or any documentation, how further forum entries would have to be made if they are added from the control panel at a later date (if they do not appear automatically).

The graphics you can see in the mockups will be provided, however if you feel you need to create a better quality version or have further suggestions please discuss this as we are open minded. Please remind us to provide you with the header colour code/header image

Please also take note that as we're still in the process of finalising this project, there might be smaller theme modifications to be made which aren't listed above. However, we'll try our best to discuss everything prior to the start of the project.

There are also two mockups, we'd like to know which one looks better. We're open to new mockups by designers. The look of the design should be professional, clean, functional, and of course attractive. This is a professional website attracting academics and intellectuals, so naturally would like something to reflect that in the design of the site.

*Just to add, IDEAL designers would have worked with IPB before (as it makes their work easier, knowing what to expect). We are also going to be adding more IPB jobs over the next month, so those designers that are appointed this job, and work well, are likely to be invited to the following work requests.
