Using the choices made available the “4-word?? game has been chosen and created in visual basic 6.0 Original Idea: 1. 4-WORD is a new word game based around 4 letter words. Develop a Solution package for this game given the following specifications Specifications. 1. The game is to cater for 1 to 4 players. 2. The computer should calculate the score automatically and update and display all scores after each term 3. The computer should disallow invalid words. 4. The computer should keep track of whose go it is 5. The character depth for each position on the board needs to be stored and provided to the player as needed 6. Players may request help with a word. (eg view a list of 4 letter words or find a 4 letter word that contains a combination of character such as “OU??. 7. The game must follow the rules provided below, but other rules and features may be added. 8. The game should be suitable for children 8 and upward. The game is to be played on a 16 by 16 grid (see sample) Rules 1. Only 4 letter words are allowed. (This includes Brand names and Acronyms) 2. Each character is worth 1 point., so most words are only worth 4 points. F- 3. The first 4 words must be placed on the (Green Centre Square). All words placed on this square are worth double points, but only for the first row. 4. A word may be placed over the top of an existing word, but it must make a legal word where words come off in other directions. A 4-letter word made in this way is scored based on the depth of the tiles as shown below. If a character is the same as the one below it the score in that position doesn’t change. Eg. The following words have been put on top of one another S I N G Scores 4 L O N G Scores 6 C O N E Scores 8 P A N T Scores 11 S A N D Scores 13 The word SAND would score 5 for the “5??, 3 for the “A??, 1 for the “IN?? and 4 for the “D??. ie a TOTAL of 13 5. Words are only scored for the word you make with your 4 letters. 6. Any word that touches the orange border of the board is worth triple points. 7. The game is finished when no player can continue 8. The player with the highest score is the winner.
