I have an existing salon software program with appointment book. The backend database is Access. I would like to create an online appointment booking system that can integrate with the existing PC client. This will be built on a linux machine, apache server that has MySql and phpAdministration existing and PHP. It must be very secure.
The Customer would book online with the employee of his or her choice and in the time slot that they want. An email is then sent to the salon to let them know that customer X wants this time period. If acceptable , the manager will book them to the Windows XP2/Vista salon client PC software and and email will then be sent back to the customer accepting the appointment. If it is not acceptable they will be sent an email asking them to rebook in a different time slot. This must be able to be done in bulk, so that appointments are not having to be accepted one by one or rejected one by one. So a list must be formed that is sent to the salon with appointments that are being requested. The Manager would only have to send back an email that the customer needs to find another time slot. This is done since not all bookings are taken online. If a customer calls into the salon and someone books online for that same period, the salon has to have control over the bookings.
The manager of the software will be able to enter the "employee" and salon schedules online so that they match the salon's PC client schedules.
I do not want the other customers to see the appointment book online, the "customers" booking only will be able to see the available choices of employees, schedules, services and then they will know a request has been sent to the salon for this time and date and service with a particular employee.
The manager or owner of the salon will see it as you would a real appointment book so they can go online and view it as you would a normal appointment book. They can add, delete, move and confirm set appointments that they view online.
