We require a License manager for our ERP-like application.
We need an app to control the user licensing/login, of who has access and into which modules.
Our App is installed on premises, client/sever in vb6 and sql 2000. U must code in VB6.
Eg. customer buys our ERP package with 4 NAMED users & 2 modules.
Thus we know user names up-front. we include these and the site name in an *encrypted* licensing file on their network.
We must restrict app usage to those named user (via NT Network login name) and to those 2 modules.
I want a server-based (encrypted) license file. this will allow the "named users" immediate access (as they were pre-registered) into the 2 modules.
If customer buys a 3rd module , they pay us & then we reissue the license key with 4 user names & 3 modules!
Trial users: any OTHER user must be able to login and trial for 30 days. (no setting back the clock !). if they like it, they pay us and we re-issue the license now with the newperson.
The modules are server based. ie everyone who has a user license (or is a trialuser) gets access to ALL the modules.
No hardware ID/Harddisk locking (painfull). suggest AES encryption ?? (strong & fast). ((VB6 ) client app).
No Activation type licensing pls.
Remember: The licensed user names and modules are known in advance. No concurrent licensing. allow users to move from pc to pc.
Our ERP app is in VB6 with sql 2000. client=win98.
prefer to use the built-in crypto api for encryption decrytion.
3rd party encyption apps dont seem to do client/server model with pre-authorised users *and* allow secure trial users.
I have a redistributable cryptoAPi class for you to use if you like.
