The premise for this tool is three-fold: 1. Showcase artwork from various ebook designers. 2. Generate revenue through affiliate sales of ebook design services. 3. Enable EbookoMatic members to create a basic ebook cover quickly and easily. The application must be easy-to-use and should ideally be all on one screen. Clicking on Select will display a drop-down menu with various template options including book covers, CD covers, software box covers, etc. The user will then enter a title, choose the position of the text (left, center, right), and choose the font (size, type, style and color through a pop-up dialogue box). This text will be previewed on the graphic in the preview box on the right side of the screen. The text box may need to be altered to allow better placement of text. Not the hardest about this program will be the skewing of the text to maintain the 3D illusion. If we are selective about the templates includes in the tool, we may be able to limit these skewed perspectives to just a few settings, or we can give the end user the ability to pull the text into the perspective they desire. The image should be able to be resized within the application. This might require a Preview button somewhere with an additional pop-up dialogue box or drop-down menu with various size settings like MS-Word does for page size. The image should be saved as JPG, BMP or GIF. We are awaiting permission from Unisys to incorporate GIF as an option. If they do not cooperate, we will simply omit that graphical option. Every time the user selects a graphic template from the drop-down Select menu, it will be previewed in the preview box, and the corresponding link to that artist's affiliate program will appear beneath the graphic (the underlying HTML affiliate link will be linked to the visible text). The About dialogue box will describe the application and include contact information for EbookoMatic including email address, physical address, web site URL, copyright information, etc. The Publish button will enable the user to immediately jump to the EbookoMatic web site to become a member and publish their work. The tool will require an installation and uninstall routine to make it easy to add or remove from a system. The tool should be easily updated with additional libraries from artists or enable the user to open any other graphic file they may have on their PC.
