I manage a Salesforce database with ~40,000 Lead records and growing daily. I frequently have initiatives that require me to segment our database quickly by job function. This cannot be done easily with complex "if Job Title contains 'sales' and 'professional'" queries because there are certain Job Titles that *should* match up with certain Standardized Job Titles but are missed in reports, etc. Internally we refer to this as "bucketization" as we are essentially evaluating a Job Title and putting it in the correct "bucket" (Standardized Job Title) ** Job Title data append **  The first problem that I came across is that not all of the Job Title data is complete. I would like for the first script in this series of scripts to read an email address in a row from the CSV file, post that email address to the Full Contact API, and if there is a job title in the response from Full Contact, write that to the Job Title field. The hope is that enough of the Job Title data will be returned so that the 2nd part of this process will be worthwhile. **Requirements for bucketization** Examples of some "bucketization" requirements:  (1) If Job Title = "Business Development Representative" then Standardized Job Title = "Sales Professional" (2) If Job Title contains "sales" and "marketing" and "operations" then Standardized Job Title = Sales & Marketing - Mgr/Dir (3) If Job Title contains "marketing" and "manager|director" then Standardized Job Title = Sales & Marketing Mgr/Dir NOTE: The comparison should be case insensitive. So in summary the first requirement is that the program(s) are flexible enough that they can be tweaked to recognize that certain combinations of words in the Job Title freeform text field should match up with a specified Standardized Job Title. The second requirement: I am able to download the files in CSV format, so I would like the program(s) to be able to evaluate the Job Title column in each row and select the best match of Standardized Job Title and write it to the Standardized Job Title column in that row. Third requirement: The program(s) should be "pluggable" so that at some point in the future, they can be leveraged via a web service that is calling the Salesforce API, retrieving a record, and performing this same function - "bucketizing" the record. Additional notes: - Must have familiarity using Github/Bitbucket. - I can provide sample data in CSV format. Possible values of the Standardized Job Title field: Marketing Professional Marketing - Mgr/Dir Marketing - VP/CMO Sales & Marketing Professional Sales & Marketing - Mgr/Dir Sales & Marketing - VP Sales Professional Sales - Mgr/Dir Sales - VP Salesforce Administrator/Analyst President/CEO Billing/Finance Other
