PART 1 - BACKEND: We need a script that accepts raw data via http and puts it into a mysql database. The data would need to be separated and organized and put into the proper tables of the database. The data is coming from a android app that forwards sms messages via http. If you have a better solution please let me know because right now the flow of the complete app goes something like this:
1. Person sends sms message to our android phone with location data in the message
2. Our android phone has an app that forwards the sms via http (GET or POST)
3. This is where the 'Backend' php script that you write will grab the data and insert it into the proper tables in the mysql database
4. The 'Frontend' script you will write will display the data from the mysql database on a google map with polylines linking each marker (Google Fusion Tables might be useful for this?)
PART 2 - FRONTEND (what the public sees): I need a webpage with a map that displays the contents of a mysql database with markers. When a marker is clicked it displays specific info related to that marker from the database in the bubble. The database structure might look something like this:
| Auto Increment | Name | Longitude | Latitude | Time | Speed | Option1 | Option2 | Option3 |
There should be a dropdown box so each day can be viewed separately as a map. In other words when the person first views the webpage the most recent day with db entries will be shown on the map. Only one day of entries will show at a time on the map.
If it will help I could draw up a prototype...thanks for reading!
