*Reposted, due to error in first posting accidently left godaddy's # on the cut and paste e-mail from them, problem has been corected*
My budget is a lot closer to the lower range of $100-300. I can not see paying very much more than what boonex is charging for this service which is currently $100.00 but they just take a real long time so I am willing to pay more for having it done quicker by competant person.
I have purchased all of the below scripts from [url removed, login to view] and I would like to have them uploaded directly onto my server and installed correctly. They are as follows below:
All 7 of the language files for dolphin
All of the Dolphin Templates
USA Zip codes
A dolphin modification rewrite file
Ray Pro 2.0
Ray template 1.1 steel
Ray MultiMedia Server 1.1
Some of these files can be downloaded directly off of the web site and some of them will require for me to e-mail the files to you directly as I have already paid for them.
Once I have all of these files installed, there are going to be some minor changes I will need to make, such as changing the color theme a bit and adding additional categories on some of the fields, like currently it shows, Female, Male and Couple, but I may want to add additional categories in this and other fields. Detail will be provided later. Also will want to change the default images displayed when no picture has been summated by the user. Again more details will be provided to wining bid.
I did have a chat with the techs at BoonEx about some of the technical requirements, I have cut and pasted the below for you. I do not know if it will be helpful, but here it is.
Al: How much space do I need from my Web Host? is 10G good enough?
Al: also how much bandwidth?
Al: Remember I want to install Dol 5.3, ray pro, ray mutimedia and also barracuda
Roman: Dolphin requires at least 7Mb of space and 200K of MySQL DB space for installation. Your host must have any Linux/Unix (RedHat, Debian, FreeBSD, Mandrake, etc.) or Windows OS, Apache Web Server, PHP 4.2.1 and higher (Apache and CGI modules), MySQL 4.1 and higher, ImageMagick (for photos upload) or GD Library as alternative, SendMail or Postfix, Cron (Shell access (SSH) or other access to setting Cron Jobs required). Otherwise we will not be able to install Dolphin properly.
Roman: Ray requires dedicated server/VPS, php 4.0+, MySQL 3.23+, web server apache 1.3, OS - Linux/Windows/Other/, JRE 1.5 (Java Runtime Environment) and SSH access (root access to install media server) if you ask us to install it for you.
Roman: Linux/Windows, Apache Web Server [url removed, login to view], MySql 4.x, PHP 4.x, Safe Mode off, mode rewrite_on, htaccess.
Roman: last for barracuda
Al: How much space should I get ALL together, I am going to allow members to upload video clips and pictures?
Al: Is 10G enough? or should I get 100Gigabites
Roman: The more you expect users the more place you need
Al: I understand, but how much space is good for say each 1000 users?
Roman: 100 g
Al: so I need 1 gigabite for every 10 users?
Roman: you can use and 20 g and 50g and 100g
Al: What would be the minimum I should get?
Roman: i recommend 50g
Al: Ok, how many users can I realistically expect to service on 50g?
Roman: 2500 users without barracuda files
Al: I do plan to install barracuda, does that change everything?
Roman: it is depend of how big your base of directories will be in your barracuda
Al: Ok, I think I better stop asking qustions right here... I don't even have the slightest idea what you are talking about now...
My current web hosting company is Godaddy and perhaps you can go there direct to see what hosting plan will BEST fit our needs for this project. You can call them direct at 24/7 Sales & Support number posted on their page or visit their web site to advise me.
I receive an e-mail from Godaddy about some of their virtual dedicated servers. (I currently have a shared hosting plan, which I am told will not work for what we need) I have cut and pasted it for you below that information for you below.
Here are your options when choosing a Virtual Dedicated Server, the base price is $34.99 per month, if you are going to upgrade any of the options below, you will see the price increases. If you do decide to do 1 year, it will save you 15% off of the price, or 2 years or more, it will save you 20% off of the price. Also, on the servers, there are no contracts, so if you decide to cancel them at any time, you will receive a refund for the difference of the months left existing.
