We are looking to automate loading of our TV encoders in case of a failure and loading of all drivers required for receivers on Ubuntu boxes.
The project involves the completion of a automation script which is loaded to the server after a base load of Ubuntu is loaded on the system
We operate 4 encoder boxes currently, right now 1 is a development box and we are looking for 3 units to go into production after this script is completed.
We have 2 Systems with Win2PC usb TV adapters and PC2TV adapters installed with Ubuntu
We have 2 systems with HDHomeRun units.
When the scripts runs we should be able to select which drivers are to be loaded on the server.
The HDHomeRun units run off a seprate ether card in the server which requires a DHCP server setup on it.
There are an adversage of 2 HDHomeRun units per a server but the script should allow options up to 4.
There is no limit to the number of USB or PCI encoders as the Win2TV and PC2TV units
In the script the following is required to be setup by choice of the adminstrator
-Load all drivers and systems required to operate the encoders
-Setup DHCP servers for encoders
-Set IP on all adapters
-Set streaming port for output for all encoders attached
-Set Channel Streaming for all encoders attached
-Set Encoders to stream at boot and ensure unit if reboot automaticly streams as per the setup script
-Monitor stream and restart streaming if required
-If the setup script is run again then new settings can be input to reprovision
-Setup script is intended to run off a fresh Ubuntu load.
-Setup trans coded with VLC, we have the trans code info and port info as per above
