We are looking for a part-time project manager (5-days per month initially) to oversee all website development work.
Business is picking up and I want to concentrate more on the growth end, but am currently spending too much time managing my full-time programmer. Our business is in websites and software for newspapers and magazines.
I am looking for someone special to release me from the following duties:
Produce specifications for tailored website development projects
Test new development work
Ensure projects stay on schedule and if delays are expected then liaise with all stakeholders
Properly identify deliverables, time-frames and best development strategy (eg stay inhouse, outsource a chunk of code etc)
Monitor ticketing system and ensure tickets are addressed timely and closed
Ensure we exceed the expectations of our clients
I want to spend less time in software development and more time in sales, account management etc. I have been overseeing software development in my business for 5 years and it is time to hand over this responsibility. I expect the role to be 5-days per month ongoing, with increased hours during specific tailored development work. The hours will be extremely flexible and likely to be broken up into chunks of 2-3 hours at a time. I see no real need for you to be in our time-zone, as our developers and clients are around the globe.
Essential skills are:
Experience in managing software development projects (give 2 examples)
Managing freelance programmers
Optimising output:expense ratios
We are a small business with highly talented, committeed staff. We are on the edge of becoming big very quickly. We are Australian based, but more recently have been signing up cilents in USA, UK, Canada, India and other countries. I want to drive this momentum.
Please quote on your monthly fee, ie 5-days. Bonuses will be paid for all highly successful outcomes. Our team is small but punches well above its weight. Please only apply if you can truly nail this role, save all of us some time!
Thanks for you interest in this position. Good luck :)
