I have a doc file that has a list of (60,000+)? items that appear in 70? high school yearbooks. I have converted it to txt? and xls. I don't know which would be better for you to get the data from.
Sample lines? look like this:
Zoblosky, James (ARC1952), 45, 108
Zoblosky, James (ARC1953), 46, 79, 82
Zoblosky, James (ARC1954), 31, 86, 90
Zoblosky, James (ARC1955), 29, 32, 86, 106, 110, 130
STUDEN with Nickname-----
Webb, Willie (Billy) (ARC1949), 23, 67, 69, 76
STUDENT with lasr name suffix-----
Watson, Earl D, Jr. (ARC1963), 110, 226
should ecome Warson Jr.
Zeisig’s Grocery & Market (adv.) (ARC1956), 197
Youngblood, Johnny W. (ARC1969), Faculty, 40, 76, 205, 208
Youngblood, Johnny W. (ARC1970), Faculty, 75, 182
Yaupon Garden Club, Vienna Trip Donor (ARC1973), 169
Yeager, Gay, Mrs. (ARC1965), 12
This is not a student, (anything with Mr. or Mrs.)
Watson, P. O., Mrs. (ARC1951), 120
Watts, John, Jr., Mr. (ARC1979), 172
Watts, John, Sr., Mr. (ARC1979), 172
Unknown First Name-----
Wyse (ARC1929), 19, 27, 29, 30
This? will give me? xls? lists of? names? with class years with page number of photos for each.?
Each? STUDENT gets one line with multiple fields.? This an example I am thinking of.
First Name (other than last name -e.g. Donald Ray)
Last (or highest) Class Year
Class Yaer 2? (next highest)
Class Yaer? 3? (next highest)
Class Yaer? 4? (next highest)
Class Yaer? 5? (next highest)? .... as many as needed
Class Years (range e.g. 1954-1959)
ARC Year-Page 1 (1954-023)
ARC Year-Page? 2 (1954-065)
ARC Year-Page? 3 (1954-066)
... as many as needed
Some students have name mispellings, or more formal full name in last year. I will have to do some manual editing for this.? ?
Someday we will? have all yearbooks scanned, and will want to link a name to? all of a? student? images to display? on a single? web page.?
Iimage name format? is this:
[url removed, login to view] ([url removed, login to view])
I have very poor vision, thus the requirement for Excel 2000.?
Eventually this will become part of an MS SQL database. Keep this in mind while creating? field names.

Notice to those sending Comments without making a bid: This project is important to me, but does not require much effort by a good coder. Right now I have many good low bids to consider. I noticed a problem in the data that I need for you to find a solution, in addition to the other criteria. Some Student Names are Father and Son. They must be separate items in the list. The key pattern that can be used is built around the number of years between the Class Year. If it is more than 4-8 years, it is probably a son 20+ years later. Look at Abbott, Elias. In the 1910-30's, many young men did not go to achool continuosly because of farm work and the Depression. Find a way to identify Father/Son names, and don't merge them as one. Elias Abbott did not attend school from 1927-1962.
