I am a 53 year-old retired photographer/photojournalist who is attempting to combine a registration login script with a cgi chat script which my son and I built from collected code. We have not worked on it in over 7 years. It was a project my son, then 14 and I used to spend time together and we had a blast for about a year taking apart and assembling code. Key point... WE ARE NOT CODERS, just a dad and his son playing with a script. But we built something that works pretty well, with one exception, it has no registration login. I have no idea what I am doing and he is no longer interested so I need some help integrating a registration Login script into our MUTT chat script. A full description of what I need and terms can be found at [url removed, login to view] Thanks!!! JD
NOTE: I have all files associated with the Webchat script which was given to me by Michael Fremont to do with as I wished, since he abandoned the script in 1998. The Mojo/Express Chat Code was given to me by the owner of the code after I requested it from him and he said I was free to improve upon it if I could. I think I have with the only issue being the lack of a registration login script. All files currently reside on my own servers ([url removed, login to view]), but the files can be delivered to the coder for alteration.
The script resides on [url removed, login to view] in a linux environment. Basically I just need a registration, login and hopefully usermanagement script INTEGRATED into the cgi/html webchat script I have written. Brain died, can't seem to figure out how to add registration. It seems like an easy process for somebody who knows what they are doing. The chat script saves usernames to a flat file database, but does not have any built in capabilities for registering a username or securing a password so users can own a username exclusively.
