I have the great freeware program GuildFTPd running on a Win2K based PC. When someone logs in to that program or downloads, uploads or disconnects, the FTP program can alert the person in front of the computer with a text message that event has occurred. It can also run any executable program or batch file for each event. However I am not in front of this computer so I have no way to know that someone has uploaded or downloaded a file. I want a program that will send me an email that tells me that any one of these four events has occurred as well as what day and time it occurred. GuildFTPd lets me pass variables to the command line of the batch file like %DATE, %USERNAME, %TIME, etc to a batch file. The email program I want would be an EXE that would be evoked from a batch file. If there is a way to get Outlook to do this, that would be sufficient too. The program would be evoked from a batch file and would send me an email with the subject of the mail containing the information I pass to it from GuildFTPd. So the message subject might look like this: User Mitch signed on at 3:00 AM on 3/26/03. Mitch, the time and the date come from the FTP program as variables passed to the batch file. There would need to be a way to easily change the email address it sends the message to. The email address could be in a text file that is also passed to the batch file.
