I need a an [url removed, login to view] clone. I think that what makes a good image hosting service is primarly long-term reliability. I think to many people are starting an image hosting service these days not thinking about where they will be 6 months from now. This script needs to be "multi-server ready". It needs to be able to expand to 2 servers or three or more easily. The script should be able to be expanded in the future, for example (to add features such as registration (access your images from anywhere) and support for more image types) etc. How does it work? Just visit the main page (for example by clicking on the [url removed, login to view] logo on top of the page), select a file you want to upload using the Browse button and click Host it! After your image has been succesfully uploaded several links will be shown which you can use on forums, auction websites (such as ebay), weblogs etc. Is hotlinking allowed? Yes, you are allowed to hotlink to your image. Please read our Terms of Service if you want to hotlink to your images from your own personal website however as hotlinking is restricted for large & busy image gallery websites. What file types are allowed? You are allowed to upload JPEG, GIF, PNG and BMP images. What is the file size limit? You may upload images up to 2 Mb (2097152 bytes) in size. Is my image altered in any way after uploading? No. The image you upload is not altered in anyway. The filename however may be filtered to remove characters which could cause problems or in case another image of the same name already exists. I uploaded a BMP file, but the result was a PNG file, what happened? [url removed, login to view] will automatically convert uploaded BMP files to PNG format. This is because BMP is not a web-friendly format and does not use compression, resulting in large filesizes, which in return could cause siginficant bandwidth usage if the file is very popular. By converting BMP images to the lossless PNG format, the resulting file is smaller, downloads faster and can be viewed by more people. The conversion should not cause any loss of quality. When will my image be deleted? Your image will be deleted after 1 year of inactivity (no hits received) or if it violates our Terms of Service. Note however that with every hit on your image the "countdown timer" will be reset, so assuming your image does not violate our TOS and is accessed at least once per year, it will never be deleted. Are there any bandwidth limits? Eventhough we would like to have as little restrictions as possible, we can't offer unlimited bandwidth. Each image is allowed to use 1 Gb of bandwidth and/or 50,000 hits per week. Additionally, within the first 24 hours after the image has been uploaded it may not use more than 500 Mb of bandwidth. Any image which goes over these limits will be deleted. Note that cache hits (hits that do not cause any bandwidth usage) are not counted. ( this shhould be adjustable by admin panel) When are thumbnails generated? A thumbnail image is automatically generated for images which are larger than 200x200 pixels. There are plenty of open source stuff that can be used as a base so the development should not be so difficult, but reliability, expandability and the ability to add new features is key.
