I currently own a Hsphere system on an existing dedicated server cluster (3 UNIX servers and 1 Windows server)...
The Hsphere version was supplied by my Dedicated server provider and it is quite old because my dedicated server provider has refused to pay for the licensing and therefore it has not been updated in years (I think I have v3.0 patch7).
I am seeking to construct a cloud hosting sever on SoftLayer. I would like to install Hsphere on the new cloud server system and then migrate all of my accounts from the older Hsphere system to the cloud system.
This could be done in a few ways...
Pay Parallels to have my existing license of Hsphere upgraded to the newest version on the old server(s), then also install Hsphere on the cloud server and then perform the migration...
Install the same "old" version of hsphere on the cloud server, then, since the version are the same, perform the migration. Then once the migration is complete, upgrade the cloud server version to the newest version.
In either case I will need someone with VERY GOOD Hsphere knowledge to help with the migration.
I have a very good server technician on hand who can assist with anything else (database transfers, IP addresses, files, server configurations, etc... but he just doesn't feel comfortable with the Hsphere transition.)
Please let me know wha tyour estimate would be to help us complete this task and let me know your thoughts on the above plans.
I would like a fixed price estimate.
That fixed price should clarify what you will do. For example...
1. Will you handle file transfers ?
2. Will you handle database transfers ?
3. Will you handle settings transfers ?
4. Will you handle email accounts and their contents transfer ?
5. Will you handle dns transfers for all accounts including ones that have setup a static ip ?
6. Will you ensure that the websites will function normally on completion of transfer?
Remember, my server technician is VERY familiar with our servers and can do alot... so please specify what you will do and what you want us to do.
