Win4Lin-enabled kernels

The developer must create pre-patched Win4Lin-compatible kernel RPMs for specified Linux distributions. NeTraverse (makers of Win4Lin) will provide basic RPM specfiles and patches specific to Linux distributions for this task. A set of RPMs must be created for every kernel update of the specified Linux distribution. Documentation will be provided, as well as a Win4Lin 5.x license. Prior experience or exposure to Win4Lin is preferred. Linux kernel patching experience is needed as well. Finally, the developer must be familiar with RPM spec files under Linux. Building updated kernels should take 2-3 hours per set, and each set contains 3-4 kernels depending on the distribution. The entire process can be scripted. The developer is responsible for adjusting the NeTraverse-supplied patches for the distribution kernel updates. We are looking for a flat price per kernel set, rather than an hourly rate. We are looking to outsource various distributions and kernels, but we will start with SuSE 9.2's latest 2.6.8-24.5 kernels only. The Win4Lin kernel patches are released under the GPL. Attached is a zip file with scripts and instructions. ## Deliverables 1) Complete kernel RPMs compatible with SuSE 9.2's kernel-default, kernel-smp, and kernel-bigsmp, 2.6.8-24.5, as well as the generated SRPMs. Please follow the instructions in [login to view URL], attached 2) Test each kernel against the latest version of Win4Lin 5.1, to be provided, by installing Windows from scratch on top of Win4Lin (with VNET enabled) with each running kernel. 3) Upload RPMs and SRPM to a location specified by NeTraverse, as well as requested version files (see [login to view URL]) ## Platform - SuSE Linux Professional 9.2, x86 platform - Win4Lin 5.1 (to be provided) - Windows 95, 98/98SE, or Me bootable CDROM (or CDROM + boot floppy) required for testing.
