We have MS Word docx files setup as Mail Merge files which we need to process programatically from within a Suse 10 linux server. Solution must be callable from the command line, and will utilise OpenOffice 3.x to handle the mail merge and any document conversions required.
Input files - a single docx and a csv.
Output files - a single docx with merge fields replace with values.
./[url removed, login to view] (PATH TO DOCUMENT/[url removed, login to view]) (PATH TO CSV/[url removed, login to view])
Solution can be written in BSH, java or python. Obviously, no MS as we're running a linux solution.
The following requirements must be met for this solution to be acceptable:
1. It must be called from the command line, accepting all arguments at the time of the call.
2. No user interaction will be required (after the initial call)
3. It must not have any hard coded paths or variables. All run time variables (if any) must be held in a seperate [url removed, login to view] (or equiv)
The attached [url removed, login to view] contains two files - a source docx and a data file.
