Introduction
FlashBay is a London, UK based company selling customized USB Flash Drives to businesses across Europe and the US. One of the services we offer is pre-loading data onto the USB Flash Drives with clients presentation, video or audio files.
Our problem:
We currently upload files onto USB Flash Drives via Windows XP based standard Dell PC hardware and USB hubs. This method causes frequent crashes of the computers and is very slow to operate limiting our USB duplication capacity and slowing down order processing as a whole.
Our intention /project description:
We would like to code/configure a LINUX based system with 16 USB ports to allow for optimal speed and reliability for our USB data duplication/data loading sessions.
We are looking for a coder who can work out how to configure/manipulate a standard LINUX operating system to enable an optimal data preload operation.
Our target process flow (open for CODER ideas and changes):
STEP 1: Inserting the USB Flash Drives to the USB ports (16)
STEP 2: Mounting the USB Flash Drives to the system (automatic or manual - CODER would need to investigate)
STEP 3: Loading the data file(s) onto all USB Flash Drives (16) in a single sycle
STEP 4: Dismounting the USB Flash Drives (automatic or manual)
Summary:
We are looking for a coder who can optimize a Linux operating system for the purpose of USB data duplication. The system needs to be 'designed' purely around USB data data duplication and stripped of all non-essential parts.
