I have a Linux Redhat 7.2 (I think laptop) loaded with Oracle [url removed, login to view], Java, JBoss, and an J2EE based application. Typically this takes about 8GB on the hard disk. Loading Redhat, Oracle and the rest of the software is a long and painful process, which often goes wrong. We want to be able to distribute/port this setup to remote (even international locations). We already have a solution for a Win 2000, server cloning, using a DVD+R disk. We want to do the same for a Linux box. So I want to be able to create a single or multiple DVD or CDs, from this laptop, so they can load onto another laptop (cloning). Ideally the target laptop would be identical to the first one, but there could be differences, in HDD capacity, make and product. For Windows 2000 there are several commercial products available, like Norton Ghost etc. We want a solution for a Linux box. We have a HP 200e DVD+RW external drive, with a USB or a Firewire port. We also can hook up the Linux box over a TCP/IP network. The Cloning will be done remotely, over the internet, I can setup a VNC server on the master laptop.
## Deliverables
1) An overview of the suggested procedure to be given with your proposal. 2) Actually start the cloning process over the internet, and re-visit it after the job has been done and DVD burnt. Then start the reloading on a target new laptop. 3) Document the procedure, and handover the programs/scripts etc. 4) Help in querries while installing at target locations, will be paid in addition and negotiated, based upon the situation.
