The job is to work on part / whole of a new set-top-box which is about to go to market. The current software is based on VDR which isnt really suitable for the consumer market. I am looking for a developer to work on a new front-end and backend to use on this set top box. The box supports DVB-C/T/S and 4 tuners. The main CPU is the AMD Geode and the coprocessor is Equator BSP-15. Some work may require signing NDA (namely the BSP-15). The entire project apart from the BSP coding will be open source and can be based on enigma, neutrino or any other backend we choose. The box runs on debian. See: [[url removed, login to view]] for a description of the hardware.
As this project is currently run by volunteers, we do not have a massive budget to work with. All hardware will be supplied at no charge.
1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.
2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables):
a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment.
b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request.
3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement).
OS: Linux, Debian.
Dev enviroment: Debian Sarge.
Hardware: Custom hardware, based on AMD Geode and Equator BSP-15.
