Greenhouses - Joomla, Virtuamart, Shopping Cart

Development of a website in Joomla and using Virtuamart

The job is for a client that sells greenhouses.

They have provided me with a mockup but I have already tweaked that into a joomla framework that looks a little nicer. I have attached an image of site layout.

What I would require you to do is work with the shopping cart aspect of the site. Preference is to use virtuemart but open to ideas if you think other options would be better.

Firstly we would need to get the cart template to match the style outlined in the customers mockup - see attached. This would involve some php and css coding.

The second part of this is the unknown. If you look on the right hand side of the product description you will see check boxes that can upsell or add related products without having to leave the main product page. Users can tick the option and the quantity and on the fly calculations will be presented at the bottom of the module area. They have borrowed (or copied - nearly exactly) this idea from another site Green House People which we will need to replicate. You can see a working example here:

Virtuemart already has a related feature products feature built in but I don't believe it can work the way the client intends it to in this circumstance. It may be possible to tweak this feature as obviously over time the client will need to easily add/remove products related products from a listed item without having to code etc.

All of this would be templating and structure work - I am happy to whack in the content once it is complete or get the developer selected to assist.
