Our site is up and running but I would like to add the ability to have users enter their cell phone number and carrier.
Everything will be provided for the carrier list and all UI will be taken care of but I need someone to write the php.
One this site users will follow other users like twitter. When a user post an update then the users following will get emailed the update to their cell phone. It's very simple, the system will email the users cell phone sms gateway using their phone number and provider. For example this would send an email to an ATT cell phone.
All these specs are flexible and we will assis developer as much as possible with good dirrection and assets.
• Phone number text input box + carrier dropdown list needs to be on the signup page and on my profile page under contact info section. Phone number text input box needs to be validated for 10 digits, numbers only and the carrier drop down needs to not allow default selection of -- Select Carrier --.
• Functionality: When a user follows another user all new posts from the user being followed will be emailed to the following user via their stored phone number on file (Just like a twitter update). IF the user does not have a phone number registered then they will receive updates to their registered email.
• Test SMS message: When a users signs up and provides a cell phone number or when a user goes to the my profile page and adds a cell phone number there needs to be a default welcome message sent to their phone. This will verify to the user that they have phone connectivity with the site.
o Welcome email will be sent to cell phone right after signup when the user adds a phone number on sign up page.
o A test button will be next to the user phone number on the profile page. When A user enters a number and hits save then the button will become in-focus and clickable. When the clicks the test button it will send a generic message to the registered phone number of that user.
