The website must provide activity feeds in RSS format allowing other interested users and applications to syndicate the feeds and follow specific users, comments on events and locations etc.
The website must implement microformats on user profiles and events. I.e hCard and hCalendar and Geo. Making user and event information easier to find on the internet.
The website must implement OpenId and Facebook connect as well as allowing users to register directly with the website.
The website must be implemented in a manner that allows languages to be added later. It must support right to left and left to right languages. It would be expected that the website choose the correct language based on the language provided from the web browser. This can be overridden by the user.
Google language ajax translation must be provided so users can view public messages that may not be in the same language as the reader.
Ajax must be used to show latest user activity on the front page.
News items will be published to twitter.
URLs must be formed in a manner that makes them easy to understand and search using search engines. The site must be Search engine optimized & friendly.
The website will implement the following functionality:
Users will be able to upload pictures (which will be resized to fit the application), write blogs, create "locations", groups and teams. They will be also able to upgrade their account to allow more privileges, this would be through a payment and must be secure.
Users will be able to add a food diary that contains meal items that they can add and then re-use later and share. Food items can be edited by other users to add cost, calaries/kilojoules, and other nutritional information.
Users will be able create training logs and programs that they will be able to share through their activities feed and will also be published into iCalendar and hCalendar formats.
Locations are places added by users and may be secured by an organisation that has paid to own the location.
Events may be added by users, major events will require payment.
Photos may be added by users, locations, teams, food and events. Rating and Comments can be added to all entities.
Privacy must be set by the user and must be respected through out the application. Teams are special entities that allow visibility of all training that has been set in the team program, other training that has visibility will be displayed to teams.
The website must consider security issues that may apply to websites, forms, AJAX and PHP.
The website will not implement any style design, but must use div elements and add class and id attributes to div elements to allow style and design templates to be added in a future project. And possibly allow users to choose their own templates.
