I am developing a small online book store for my client. I need someone for designing the page templates i.e. a UI designer.
Following are the different pages required:
1) Home page
2) Category / Sub-category home
3) Product details
4) Pages involved in stepwise checkout (Login, shipping and billing address, order summary, payment method, success etc), you can make it working as tabs on the same page through jquery.
IN SHORT, YOU WILL BE CONCERNED WITH A SIMPLE TEMPLATE DESIGN FOR AN ECOMMERCE STORE (HTML/CSS/JQUERY)
The store will be made in Codeigniter (PHP) so a working knowledge of PHP is preferred for your ease during integration (I will integrate it myself, but your help might be required to guide me if some minor errors come up like errors in matching file paths in jquery etc.).
Design guidelines: The client prefers to have a clean design with white background. Crowded designs are a big NO. The best reference site chosen by the client is Myntra ([url removed, login to view]) for its white and spacious design free from all discount icons, etc.
Since it will be a bookstore but later may add other categories too, you are advised to take ideas from BookAdda ([url removed, login to view]) and Flipkart ([url removed, login to view]) regarding what the major building blocks are required. However, the design should not copy any of these. FURTHER DISCUSSION THROUGH PMs.
The backend will be able to add categories dynamically in navigation menu (by looping <li> elements). Same applies to products, suggested products etc. The navigation menu can be vertical (fixed left sidebar like BookAdda or scripted like Flipkart) or horizontal multi-level (like [url removed, login to view]), it will be finalized after further analysis. May be we can finalize this after project allotment too. Or otherwise you can provide designs with both options.
Minor rework is expected until the design satisfies the client's needs (I will be putting you in direct conversation with the client if required).
Finally: The design should be cross-browser compatible (IE6 not required, but should not look objectionable on the same)
The HTML markup will be validated before acceptance, HTML5 doctype should be preferred, however, xhtml transitional can also work up.
Deliverable should include all PSD files etc. for future edits.
You should be available later if I need some changes related to the project.
Low cost but clean and attractive work will be the bid winner, your work quality can make you a regular design partner for my future projects too.
